Hi Roger, great video. I am lucky to be looking at a first Porsche purchase in hopefully 6-8 months and came across this in my research having gone through all the others, I think this car is just so special and the only decision now is the colour! Very informative review, I wonder do you still have the car? I am also on the Wirral so recognise a lot of your driving areas! Only other concern is if the roof, not the operation, I like that bit, but is it water tight as I dont have a garage! 😀 Thanks again for the video

Back in 2017 I asked Andreas Preuninger if he preferred the manual or PDK 991.2 GT3. He said that with access to both at his office in Weissach, he took home whichever version he was in the mood for that day. Enough said. As I drive mine into the hills near where I live I went for the Clubsport manual. If I did a lot of trackdays I would have gone PDK. Horses for courses.

Personally, I think the whole manual vs. PDK debate is silly. Pick what fits with the driving style you prefer. The only way to truly enjoy a manual in a Porsche IMHO is in a classic air cooled Porsche. The modern Porsche is best driven with a PDK because it allows you to truly test the chassis and suspension setup of the car, no human can change gears as effectively as a PDK. Besides, the majority of time is spent driving these cars in the city anyway and a manual is a pain in city traffic. I’m fortunate to own a new 992 Turbo S and an early 911 with manual transmission. I wouldn’t want it any other way. When I want to have some fun on a twisty country road and enjoy the mechanical connection with a car I take the classic 911 for a drive. But when I want to experience the modern technical advancements of a Porsche through some straight line speed and aggressive driving on a twisty mountain road, it’s the Turbo S with the PDK.

Always loved the 944 & 928 growing up, but never could afford to go up from the "vette" price range. Fast forward ... when I could afford at least a cpo Porsche, I always went a different direction UNTIL finally driving a 911. After less than 1 mile driving it, I knew Id FINALLY found my Sweetspot after 70+ cars (not a collector, just driver). The 2019 991.2 4 gts. Perfect for me!!! Nothing newer. 😀

Had this one been available, we might not have hotten our 2024 Audi Q755 tfsi. But I must say we love the Q7. No regrets.

Bought my first Porsche in 1974, a 1960 356B with a 1600S engine , ten 1967-‘73 S models and almost as many E , I also had ac’73 RS. Fifty years later I own what I consider to be the best . A 993 . Holy grail at last , even prefer it to the 1973 Carrera RS .

PASM is not stability management. That's PSM. PASM is active suspension. Read the manual mate!

My sweetspot was the 2019 991.2 4 gts. Pdk for me. Always mauals when younger, even after they became slower. Not now. Pdk is too good, and Im too old for the fuss! 😆

Manual connects your soul to the car..

I had a gt3 with manual- traded it in for the 991.2RS which only comes PDK I have come to the conclusion that the manual IS more engaging despite the “manual” paddles- of the PDK Having said that - for the odd day I hit the track in the RS it’s nice to let the car worry about shifting

Even if I was a multi-millionaire, and could afford the far more expensive and the look-at-me 911 equivalent, I'd still buy one of these.

Amazing how this car is beginning to get a real following as people begin to understand its character and poise, particularly after such initial resistance. Porsche just so good like that. Thought l may need to go back to an NA version at times but now having owned mine for over 5 years l really just don’t want to. It’s such a different car to the NA versions and one l have become very fond of. I can’t put my finger on just one thing, but l know it has something to do with how it all just works so well together as a package.

Nice comparison Roger. You can now get a GT3 for £160k, so it just proves that with a bit of patience you can avoid all the musical chairs to get an allocation and big £100k overs market, which has now collapsed two years later.

I have a 2015 R9T and love it. I also have a 2015 Ducati 800 Classic. The Ducati always feels faster but we all know who wins. Please comment on your thoughts.
